Why Not Build A Patio?
During the lazy, hazy days of summer, we all want to spend more time outside in the garden, and one of the best places to sit and enjoy the sun is on a patio.
A patio can serve one of several different functions, one of which is that it can be the perfect place to sit after we have had heavy rain. Even in summer, in Britain we can get heavy rain at all times of year, and in the summer, there may be thunderstorms. Then out comes the sun again, but the lawn is soaking wet. However, if you have a patio, it doesn’t matter because a half hour in the sunshine will dry it off and you can sit outside and enjoy yourself.
Many people have a patio right outside the back door, but it doesn’t have to be there. If you have a big garden, it can be further away, or it can be beside your pool. A patio outside the back door is just like adding another room to your home because of all the extra space it gives you, yet it doesn’t cost anything like what building a conservatory would.
Of course, a patio is the perfect place for those summer barbecues and for entertaining family and friends. You can also buy very large umbrellas very cheaply and they can be used to shield you from the sun when it gets too hot. You could have a permanent or retractable roof over your patio if you wish.
Your patio can be open plan, or you can have a small wall around the outside. If you have a double wall, you can fill it with soil and have beautiful plants all around, or you could even have a small tree or two in large pots.
With a patio in Kent you could also install a firepit or permanent barbecue, you could have lighting so that you can sit outside when the sun has gone down but it is still a warm evening, and you can have a fountain or a pool filled with goldfish. The possibilities are endless. Furthermore, when you build a patio, it will add value to your home as well.
At Base Driveways we have been building patios for our customers for over 20 years, so we can build you the perfect patio in your choice of stone. You could have block paving, coloured concrete, stone cobbles, paving slabs, slate, and more. Again, the choice is almost endless.
